Course Overview
This course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely support children and young people who receive enteral feeding. Learners will develop an understanding of enteral feeding systems, safe administration procedures, troubleshooting common issues, and responding appropriately to emergencies.
 
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of enteral feeding in children and young people

  • Identify different types of feeding tubes and devices

  • Safely prepare and administer enteral feeds, fluids, and medication

  • Recognise and respond to common complications

  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures

  • Maintain accurate documentation and records

  • Demonstrate safe practice in accordance with organisational policies and individual care plans
